From Fine Arts to Marketing Strategy: Antonella’s Creative Journey at magier

Meet Antonella – a creative marketing mind based in Madrid with a background in both fine arts and digital design. After exploring various branches of marketing, she’s now shaping magier’s content strategy, employee advocacy, and community building. In this interview, she shares how she got here, her favorite projects, and what it’s like to work at a remote-first startup.

Can You Introduce Yourself and Share a Bit About Your Journey Before Joining magier?

My name is Antonella. I’ve been in the marketing space for about five years, exploring different branches – from community management to working as a marketing assistant in different industries like industrial design, real estate and higher education. I also did freelance work and explored entrepreneurship along the way as a freelancer and as content creator for different magazies.

I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, always super inclined to art and design but I wanted to see what the world had for me abroad. I actually started out studying fine arts, but eventually realized I didn’t want to build a full career in that. So I pivoted to digital design and marketing, and studied in Madrid.

What’s a Typical Day Like for You Now? What Tasks Do You Find Most Fun and Challenging?

No two days are the same, which I love. My day usually starts with a daily team call, and then I jump into developing new content for our LinkedIn accounts. I also handle community management and lead nurturing, and I focus a lot on our content strategy.

My favorite tasks are definitely video-related – writing scripts, shooting, and editing videos. They take time, but they’re super fun and creative.

Can You Share a Memorable Project You’ve Worked On at magier? What Made It Special?

A standout project has been building employee advocacy on social media. Since I work in B2B marketing, it’s one of the best strategies to position our brand across different channels.

We basically started from zero, and it’s been really rewarding to pull the team in, help them build their personal brands, and see them start to trust me with the process. It’s special because it’s about motivating people to show up and own their voice.

How Has Your Role at magier Helped You Grow Professionally or Personally?

In both areas, massively.

Professionally, being in a fast-paced startup taught me to manage my time better and exposed me to a ton of new tools – from AI to design tools I hadn’t used before. Plus, I’m constantly learning from the team – they’re super smart and inspiring to work with.

Personally, I discovered skills I didn’t know I had. I’ve realized I’m a strong communicator and bring a positive, creative energy to the team. That creative side really shines in marketing.

What Advice Would You Give to Someone Thinking About Joining magier?

Go for it 100%! This year has changed the way I see creative startups.

The team is incredibly creative and inspiring, and I’m super grateful to be part of it. Being a remote-first company also means you get the flexibility to manage your own time.

One thing though, you need to think outside the box. Don’t wait for things to get done. Bring your ideas, be hands-on, and make things happen.

When You’re Not Working, What Hobby or Passion Helps You Unwind?

I live in Madrid, and the city has so much to offer. I love going to Pilates or barre classes with my equally active friends, and I enjoy hiking or just exploring new spots in the city. You never really get bored here.

If Your Morning Coffee Gave You a Superpower for the Day, What Would It Be?

I’d love to do 10 tasks per minute! That way, by the end of the day, I wouldn’t be rushing or feeling like I’m running out of time.
