How Weglot Built a Scalable Sub-Brand with magier
Weglot powers 100,000+ websites with a lean team — and just one person running all things design.
As Creative Content Manager, Merve led campaigns, events, and branding – solo. But when Weglot planned their first flagship event, hiring a solo freelancer wouldn't have done the job. She needed a creative partner who could move fast, bring fresh ideas, and truly scale with her.
As you can imagine, with more marketing campaigns, launches, and now a high-profile event on the horizon, the current setup was no longer sustainable. That's when our team came in.
The challenge
Weglot had experience working with freelancers. They were great, but the setup had its limitations. “You can’t fully rely on freelancers to always be available and dedicated. Plus, often they just execute,” Merve explained. “As a creative, sometimes you need a second opinion or fresh strategic input from others.”
Agency collaborations didn’t solve the problem either. Quality was inconsistent. After a few promising weeks, things would drop off — deliverables slowed, and project management landed back on Weglot’s plate. Merve didn’t want to spend her time chasing updates. She needed someone who could truly act as her right hand.
As the one-person creative team at Weglot, Merve came across magier on LinkedIn and knew she’d found the right partner. Someone who could:
• Be consistent in work quality and time dedication
• Offer creative inputs beyond execution
• Be responsible for the ownership of design work
What also truly impressed Merve and convinced her to choose magier over agencies or individual freelancers was the team's versatility in addressing her challenges across branding, content, ads, merchandise, web design, and more.

This flexibility proved invaluable because each submitted task at magier is handled by a dedicated specialist — whether a print designer, UX/UI expert, or ads design professional —bringing focused expertise to every design task without you needing to look for freelance specialists every time yourself.
She also highlighted that the free resources we were sharing, such as roundups of great ads and landing pages showed that our team has studied the industry and the best of the best to be able to provide great designs not only from a design persective, but also the marketing perspective.
What magier did
The timing couldn’t have been tougher — Q2 at Weglot was packed with major creative initiatives, from launching their first flagship event Next Market Live to rolling out a mentorship program and preparing for a big presence at WordCamp Europe. But with magier in the mix, Merve and the Weglot team found a smoother, more effective way to meet their creative demands.
Built a Sub-brand for Next Market Live — from Scratch
We partnered with Weglot to create a full visual identity for their first flagship event. The goal: something fresh and distinct, yet still aligned with Weglot’s core brand. The result is a flexible design system that scales across formats:
- Custom logo and visual style
- Landing page in Webflow
- Speaker cards, presentation templates, and booklets
- Social media graphics
Thanks to the clear design guidelines, the Weglot team could also generate assets in-house with ease.
Plugged In as an Extension of the Team
With no internal designers to rely on, Merve needed more than just execution — she needed a team that could think with her. Throughout the process, we acted as creative sparring partners, providing multiple variations, fresh ideas, and strategic input to get the best outcome.
The results
The first edition of Next Market Live was a big hit. The branding made a strong impression — both internally and with attendees — and gained instant traction across platforms, from social media to the landing page.

The project gave Weglot a scalable event identity that they can build on for future editions across different countries. They already reused lots of the design assets we provided for other assets and will continue to do so for future event launches. The possibilities are endless!
Behind the scenes, the collaboration ran just as smoothly. Our team worked seamlessly with Merve, delivered designs on time & brought proactive ideas and resources to the table.
Looking back, the biggest shift for Weglot wasn’t just the polished designs, but the peace of mind. With magier, Weglot gained a creative partner who could scale with their pace, think alongside them, and reliably deliver great work without any chasing, or hand holding. A team that feels like an extension of their own.
If you’re looking to do more with less, we might become your unfair advantage, too.
