30 Best Figma Plugins for Designers [2026]

Figma plugins are add-on tools that extend Figma's functionality for tasks like AI-assisted design, accessibility checking, design-to-code conversion, and asset management. The best Figma plugins for designers in 2026 include UXPilot for AI wireframing, Stark for accessibility, Tokens Studio for design systems, and Unsplash for stock images.

This guide covers 30 plugins organized by category: AI and productivity, design systems, developer tools, accessibility, images and icons, mockups, animations, and everyday utilities. We've tested each plugin and noted which are free, freemium, or paid.

How did we come up with this list?

We didn't pull this list from a directory or rank plugins by download count. We asked our 20 expert designers at magier, who spend every day inside Figma delivering work for clients across SaaS, fintech, ecommerce, and startup branding.

Each designer shared the plugins they actively rely on, not the ones they installed once and forgot about. We then filtered the list based on three criteria:

Actual daily usage: If a plugin wasn't being used at least a few times per week by multiple designers on the team, it didn't make the list. There are thousands of Figma plugins available, but most of them solve problems that rarely come up. We focused on the ones that address recurring needs like icon sourcing, background removal, file export, and developer handoff.

Quality of output: Some plugins sound great in their descriptions but produce inconsistent results. We only included plugins where the output was reliable enough to use in client-facing work without heavy manual cleanup afterward.

Pricing accessibility: We made sure to include a mix of free, freemium, and paid options. 17 of the 30 plugins on this list are completely free. The paid and freemium options made the cut because they solve problems that the free alternatives don't handle as well, such as Print for Figma's CMYK export or html.to.design's full website-to-Figma conversion.

We plan to revisit and update this list regularly as new plugins launch and existing ones add features. If there's a plugin you think we missed, feel free to reach out and we'll test it with the team.

What is a Figma plugin?

A Figma plugin is a third-party add-on that extends Figma's built-in functionality, allowing designers to automate tasks, access external assets, and add features that Figma doesn't offer natively. Plugins run directly inside the Figma interface, so you don't need to switch between tools.

Common use cases include removing image backgrounds, converting designs to production-ready code, accessing icon libraries, generating placeholder content, and exporting files in formats like PowerPoint or Lottie. Figma's Community hub hosts thousands of plugins, and most are either free or freemium.

Plugins are different from Figma widgets (which are interactive objects placed on the canvas) and Figma templates (which are pre-built design files). A plugin adds a capability to your workflow. A widget adds an element to your file.

Best Figma plugins by category

Not every plugin does the same thing. Here's a quick breakdown of which plugins on this list are the strongest fit for specific needs.

Best Figma plugins for AI and image editing

For background removal, Icons8 Background Remover is the most frictionless option because it's completely free, requires no signup, and uses AI for clean results. Remove BG is a solid alternative if you need higher-precision cutouts, though it requires an API key and a paid plan. Image Palette is the best choice if you need to pull color schemes from reference images quickly, which is especially useful during moodboarding.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Icons8 Background Remover
  • Remove BG
  • Image Palette

Best Figma plugins for design-to-code and developer handoff

Anima is the strongest option here, supporting React, HTML, Vue, CSS, and Tailwind CSS exports. It's free and generates clean, usable code that developers can actually work with. html.to.design works in the opposite direction, converting live websites into editable Figma files. This is particularly useful when clients don't have an existing design system but want to iterate on top of their current site. Tokens Studio is worth pairing with either of these if your team manages design tokens across a larger system.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Anima
  • html.to.design
  • Tokens Studio

Best Figma plugins for visual effects and gradients

Mesh Gradient and Shader Gradient both handle gradients, but they serve different purposes. Mesh Gradient is better for static, finely controlled 2D color transitions. Shader Gradient is the one to use when you want animated, moving gradients that feel more dynamic. Beautiful Shadows is the best plugin for realistic shadow work because it lets you manipulate a virtual light source instead of manually tweaking values. Get Waves and Blobs round out this category for anyone who needs decorative SVG shapes without opening Illustrator.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Mesh Gradient
  • Shader Gradient
  • Beautiful Shadows
  • Get Waves
  • Blobs

Best Figma plugins for icons, logos, and stock assets

Iconbuddy gives you access to over 180,000 open-source SVG icons directly inside Figma, which makes it the most comprehensive icon library plugin available. Brandfetch solves a different problem: when you need brand logos and assets in SVG format without spending 15 minutes hunting them down on company websites. Unsplash is the go-to for royalty-free photography, and the Figma integration removes the step of downloading and re-importing manually.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Iconbuddy
  • Brandfetch
  • Unsplash

Best Figma plugins for presentations and export

If you design slides in Figma but need to deliver them in PowerPoint, Deck is the most straightforward solution. Pitch Deck Presentation Studio goes further by adding animation effects and transitions, which makes it the better choice if the presentation needs to feel polished and dynamic. Print for Figma covers an entirely different export need: preparing designs for physical print with CMYK color profiles, bleed marks, and DPI settings up to 300. Tiny Image Compressor is essential if you're exporting assets for web and need to keep file sizes low without a separate compression step.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Deck
  • Pitch Deck Presentation Studio
  • Print for Figma
  • Tiny Image Compressor

Best Figma plugins for mockups and placeholder content

Mockuuups Studio is the best option for placing your designs into realistic device and environment mockups without leaving Figma. User Profile / Avatar and Memojis both generate placeholder avatars, but they serve different aesthetics. User Profile / Avatar is the practical choice for UI mockups that need realistic-looking profile images. Memojis is better when you want a more playful, illustrated feel. Lorem Ipsum handles placeholder text, and Figmoji lets you drop emojis directly into your layouts.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Mockuuups Studio
  • User Profile / Avatar
  • Memojis
  • Lorem Ipsum
  • Figmoji

Best Figma plugins for workflow and file organization

Rename It is the most useful plugin in this category if you work on large projects where layer naming becomes a problem. Batch renaming layers and frames saves a surprising amount of time and makes handoff cleaner. Better Font Picker improves typography selection by letting you preview fonts in context instead of scrolling through a flat list. Spell catches spelling and grammar errors before they make it into a final design, which is especially important for UI copy. Chart and Table Creator both solve the problem of building data-heavy elements in Figma without relying on awkward auto-layout workarounds. Autoflow is the strongest choice for anyone who needs to create user flow diagrams by connecting screens and artboards visually.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Rename It
  • Better Font Picker
  • Spell
  • Chart
  • Table Creator
  • Autoflow

Best Figma plugins for animations

Lottie Files is the clear leader here. It lets you create animations directly inside Figma and export them in Lottie format, which renders natively on both mobile and web. Shader Gradient also belongs in this category since it produces moving gradients that work well as animated background elements. For static designs that need to become animated presentations, Pitch Deck Presentation Studio handles that transition without requiring a separate tool.

Plugins mentioned:

  • Lottie Files
  • Shader Gradient
  • Pitch Deck Presentation Studio

Final thoughts

Figma's plugin ecosystem is one of the biggest reasons it became the standard design tool for teams worldwide. The right set of plugins can save you hours per week on repetitive tasks like background removal, icon sourcing, and file organization.

That said, more plugins doesn't always mean better results. We'd recommend starting with five or six that directly address your most common bottlenecks, then expanding from there. If you're doing a lot of UI design, Anima, Iconbuddy, and Tokens Studio are a strong starting trio. If your work leans more toward marketing design and presentations, Print for Figma, Deck, and Unsplash will cover most of what you need.

The plugins on this list were selected based on what our 20-person design team at magier actually uses in daily client work. We'll keep updating this list as new plugins emerge and existing ones evolve. Meanwhile, if you need expert help with Figma designing, book a call with magier and we can take it from there.
