Playmaker (now Portday) leverages AI to convert unstructured documents — such as PDFs, images, and web data — into structured, actionable formats, streamlining workflows for over 300 businesses across various industries.

How Playmaker Launched a Conversion-Ready Website in Under 2 Months
Playmaker (now: Portday) is an AI-powered document processing application built to help traditional industries like retail, logistics, construction, and manufacturing automate their document-heavy work. It takes care of repetitive tasks like pulling data from documents and entering it into different systems, helping over 300 businesses save time and cut down errors.
As playmaker expanded, the team found their original website lacked the impact needed to attract their full range of potential customers. They needed something that could boost their online presence. After hearing about magier’s design and Webflow work from other startups, playmaker teamed up with magier to design and launch a new website in just two months.
The challenge
Playmaker came in with a clear vision: they knew what the new site should look like and what it needed to do. But turning that into a fully built Webflow site – on a tight timeline and budget – meant they needed the right partner.
They weren’t just looking for good design. They wanted a team who could sense-check their ideas, move fast, and make sure the final result worked just as well as it looked.
Here’s what needed to change:
- Not reaching the right people – The old site was only attracting a narrow slice of potential customers.
- Messaging wasn’t clear enough – Visitors couldn’t quickly tell what playmaker does or how it helps.
- Too little context, or too much – The site lacked the right depth to help people explore without feeling overwhelmed.
Everything needed to be live within 8 weeks, without blowing the budget.
What magier did

We kicked things off with an onboarding call to define the constraints, goals, and timeline. From there, our team jumped straight into action.
Starting with some light brand adjustments, we then turned playmaker’s website ideas into a full Figma design. Once that was approved, we moved on to building the final Webflow site. Along the way, we added motion design to help explain what playmaker does. All done through smooth communication with their team and within ours.
Despite tight timelines, everything was delivered on time.
Here’s what we took care of:
- Refreshed brand visuals for better clarity.
- Turned wireframe ideas into Figma designs.
- Built the website in Webflow, seamlessly integrating design and development work.
- Added animations to the landing page, making sure that anyone landing on the site would get a clear idea of the value of playmaker’s document automation in seconds.
- Provided technical SEO support so the website can be found more easily.

The results
Playmaker’s old website was too simple and one-dimensional, which meant it could only reach and convert a limited audience. By working with magier, that changed within just two months. Now, playmaker’s new website is doing exactly what the team wanted: making the company much more visible and searchable online.

As Alex put it:
“We had quite an uptick in the number of varied customers. Before, the site kind of constrained who found us. Now, we’re attracting a broader mix—and learning more from them too.”
Now, playmaker is:
- Attracting more clients: Since the launch, playmaker has seen a good mix of new customers from different industries coming their way.
- Getting product insights: Meeting a broader range of customers helped playmaker identify what matters most, leading to more focused product development.
And that’s what a well-designed website can do: support both go-to-market growth and product development.
